Three Yass boys were selected to represent the ACT Brumbies at the NSW Rugby Union Championships which was held over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.

Baden Godfrey represented the 14’s team whille Andrew McFarlane and Darcey Bush were in the 13’s team.
The 14’s went into the competition with a tough draw, but played well. They finished in 11th place with a win, a draw, and two losses.
The 13’s team had their most successful tournament to date, managing to qualify for the quarter finals. They produced some exceptional wins, defeating Central Coast 36 – 0, Parramatta 50 – 0 and Randwick 24 – 5.
The 13’s were defeated by West Harbour in a tough game, going down 29 – 0. The boys finished second in their pool, therefore playing the quarter finals against Manly, where they unfortunately went down in a very tight match.
This placed them in the playoff for 5th and 6th place against North Sydney. They dug deep in to came away with a 22 – 0 win.
The 13’s finished the tournament in 5th place out of the 17 teams who competed.
Andrew and Darcey both played exceptionally well all weekend, resulting in Darcey receiving the Best Forward award as well as the Player’s Player award.
Darcey has additionally been selected in the Raider’s 13’s Development Squad so the representative training doesn’t stop for him.
