For the second year in a row, the winery in Murrumbateman donated $3200 to the brigade, a 50 per cent share of the proceeds of the night on June 17.
Brigade president Peter Clark said the proceeds were significant funds needed to extend the brigade’s fire shed.
“It went very well and your generous support to the brigade is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for a great evening,” Mr Clark said.
Recently, Hall Rotary Club made a donation of $5000 to the brigade’s extension fund.
“These two significant donations – from Yarrh Winery and Hall Rotary – ensure we can undertake our extension this year, ready for the next fire season,” Mr Clark said.
The bonfire was lit at dusk under the watchful eye of brigade firefighters. Before that, about 80 guests spent more than an hour sampling a number of Yarrh wines.
