The match took place at Hanging Rock Oval, and it extended the Roos’ good form throughout July, following mixed results during the preceding weeks.
This result has pushed Yass to fifth on the ladder, while it also kept Batemans Bay languishing in tenth.
The Roos started quickly, streaking out to a 22 – 2 lead at half time.
Although the Seahawks rallied thereafter, they couldn’t close the gap, and although the margin was only ten points at three quarter time, the Roos blew the match apart with a thunderous 52 point final quarter.
Adam Curtois continued his fine form for Yass with seven goals, while Sam Campbell contributed with three and David Willersdorf and Steven O’Brien both contributed two each.
This result sets Yass up nicely to make a run into the finals, but first they will face the Belconnen Magpies on the 29th of July.
Although the Magpies are ranked 9th on the ladder, the last time the two teams played Belconnen came away winners by three points, so Yass will be looking to avenge that result with a big win this coming Saturday at Joe O’Connor Park.
