Leading 2–1 at half-time, Yass was unable to hold onto the lead in the latter 45 minutes. Two goals by Olympic’s Ulises Castro ensured the win for the home side.
However, the Redbacks can be positive of crawling their way to the lead after conceding the first goal. While it was an even contest in the early stage with ball possessions fluctuating, Yass was unlucky to not have scored first.
The Redbacks responded almost immediately to a 1–0 deficit, with their goal ricocheting off the goal keeper to hit the crossbar before going into the nets.
Continuous pressure by Yass resulted in their second goal after some calm and composed passing around Olympic’s penalty box. However, Olympic kept Yass at Bay in the second half to advance to the preliminary round.
Meanwhile in division 10, the Redbacks secured an extra-time win against UC Pumas. Two goals to John Goethals.
