The Binit Binit Learning Community, comprising of 10 local schools, with the Yass Aboriginal Education Consultative Group are holding their first annual combined NAIDOC celebrations on Friday September 15 at Victoria Park.

The day will comprise of two sessions where school students and community members view and engage with Aboriginal dance, food, stories and culture.
The day will be opened at 9.30am by a traditional smoking ceremony, Aboriginal dance groups and a welcome to country performed in Ngunnawal language.
Victoria park will be set up with more than 50 exhibitors – from story telling, NRL and AFL football clubs to emergency services and everything in between.
There will be a large contingent of Aboriginal elders and community members on hand to talk with students and members of the public, while running workshops, making damper and teaching dances.
The focus of the day is to celebrate and educate about Aboriginal culture while providing information to families regarding the support services that are available in our local area.
Families and members of the public are encouraged to attend this inaugural event.
Session one
- 9.30am: All gather at the main stage.
- 10.10am: Participants are invited to explore the wide range of activities and stalls around the oval.
- 12pm: Conclusion of session one.

- 12.30pm: All gather at the main stage.
- 1.10pm: Participants are encouraged to explore the many varied stalls and activities around the oval.
- 3pm: Conclusion of the day.
