Murrumbateman Field Days
The 39th edition of the event in 2017 will open at the Murrumbateman Recreation Ground. From 8am to 5pm on Saturday October 21 and 8am to 4pm on Sunday October 22. In 2016, around 22,000 people visited the event, including nearly 400 exhibitors on 500 sites. This year, there are even more exhibitors. More: mfdays.com

Community Market
Yass Community Market is on this Saturday October 21. At St Augustine’ s Hall on Meehan Street. From 9.30am to 1pm. All the usual attractions, including new plant stall for seedlings. Daniel Kelly will also perform and sing topical songs by Phil Ochs from 9.30am to 11am.
Yass says Yes party
A free family-friendly event on Saturday October 21 at Trader and Co. from 2pm to 4pm. Bring your postal survey and walk to the post office together. BYO plate of nibbles to share. Bring your rainbow craft along to make banners, yarn bombs, stickers – whatever takes your fancy. Canberra Gay and Lesbian Qwire will be singing from 2.30pm.
Guide training workshop
On Sunday October 22, Cooma Cottage will host an introduction to volunteering and guiding at the heritage-listed site. Begins at 10am.
Little Athletics host first meet
Yass Little Athletics’ registrations and first meet for the season for the 2017–18 will be on Tuesday October 24. At Walker Park from 5pm to 7pm.
Resilience Roadshow
NSW Department of Education presents an evening with Andrew Fuller at Yass High School (school hall) on Tuesday October 24. Mr Fuller, director of Resilient Youth, will present his ‘Building Resilience’ workshop to help young people develop strong emotional intelligence. He has developed the resilience of more than 190,000 young people and works in more than 600 communities nationally. The session will run from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Gunning Service Expo
Mission Australia will discuss the support available (including homelessness, disabilities, child protection and drug and alcohol) to the Gunning Community. On Tuesday October 24, 6pm to 8.30pm, at Gunning Fire Control room (123 Yass Street, Gunning). Tea, coffee and snacks will also be available.
