The initiative raises funds to support MND research at the Macquarie University MND Research Centre.
So far, the crew has raised nearly $950 and they aim for $2000.
Overall, the initiative has raised more than $570,000 so far – the target is $1 million.
Deputy captain Scott Lang said it was a grueling challenge.
“However, it is nothing in comparison to the challenge patients with MND face every day,” Mr Lang said.
As part of the climb, the crew carried an additional 20kg of gear in full structural firefighting ensemble.
Mr Lang said the fastest crew member from Yass took about 15 minutes to reach the top.
“The winner did it in about 10 minutes,” he said.

Station is recruiting
The 511 station is currently recruiting retained (on-call) firefighters in Yass Valley. Applications are invited from men and women, who are Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents and have good daytime availability.
“At the moment, we’ve got some positions due to staff movements and transfers,” Mr Lang said.
“We’re looking for fit-community minded people who have daytime availability to work as a paid on-call firefighter,” he said.
All training and uniform will be provided.
Greg Mullins, Fire and Rescue NSW commissioner, said being an on-call firefighter is a deeply rewarding and critical frontline emergency-service role that offers excellent training for successful applicants.
“These firefighters are everyday men and women from all walks of life who, when needed in an emergency, perform an extraordinary service to their communities.
“To people who look at the role and think, ‘I couldn’t do that’, I encourage you to speak to our firefighters about the role and what they do,” Commissioner Mullins said.
