Mr Chapman said that although the counting of visitor and on-site numbers is still continuing, at this early stage it looks as though it will equal if not surpass last year’s numbers.
“It was great weather for the weekend, with a wonderful sunny Saturday and rain holding off until just before close of gates yesterday,” Mr Chapman said.
“Standouts had to be the children’s entertainment including the new U5s area, the children’s farmyard of course and the new outback pony rides.
“The new marketplace featuring OzHarvest has been an absolute success. We have had excellent feedback that visitors love having a market on site where they can buy local products from the Murrumbateman region,” Mr Chapman said.
Other events that proved extremely popular with local, regional and city visitors were the tractor pull, the sheep dogs, the NSW Rural Fire Service’s Inflatable Smoke House and the NSW Department of Health’s Make Healthy Normal Zone as well as the wide range of shopping offered by more than 500 exhibitor sites.
“Everything went really smoothly and there were no problems this year,” Mr Chapman said.
“Next year of course will be our 40th birthday and we already have a number of special events planned so we hope everyone will join us for our 40th Murrumbateman Field Days,” he said.
