The annual event will once again be held at Victoria Park, where it will be turned from a sports field into an arena of festive decorations.
Activities will start at 5pm and carols at 6pm.
The event is organised by the combined churches as a gift to the community.
Nick Barber, pastor at the Yass Community Baptist Church and one of the organisers, said he expected the turnout to be similar to previous years.
“We had between 800 and 1000 last year so we’re hoping for similar figures again. It’s definitely an event that’s growing each year,” he said.
Most of the cost is covered by local churches – including Eagles Nest, the Uniting Parish, St Augustine’s, Yass Vine, and Yass Valley Anglican – in conjunction with the community.
Mr Barber said the lineup of musicians and performers will “include various local talent leading the show”.
This will include Gillian Stewart who performed in previous years and whom Mr Barber describes as having an amazing voice.
As well, Derryth Nash, Henna Watson, Orion Mandella and the Good Vibes Choir will put on performances.
There will be activities for the whole family, including face painting, a jumping castle, nativity for kids, barbecue, coffee, juices, and kids’ games.
Planning for the event began in October 2017, and organisers said more information via posters and flyers will soon start “popping up around town”. Residents are encouraged to share in the festivities of this free event.
