Binalong Public School celebrated the end to a wonderful 2017 with their presentation evening at the Binalong Mechanic’s Institute on Monday, December 11.

Family and community members attended, as well as special guest Pru Goward.
Students performed ‘A day in the life of ... Us!’ that included singing and dancing by all students.
A presentation to the kinder orientation students by K-2 teacher Mrs Joanne Innes followed.
Madaline Brayshaw delivered the P&C report and Renee Arabin gave her principal’s report, making special mention to the tireless effort of all the volunteers.
In particular to Mrs Cheryl Vasey, who volunteers at the school two days a week, to Madaline Brayshaw for all she does for the P&C and the school in general and to Fabia Arokiaswamy for her involvement in setting up and running of the P&C playgroup.
School awards were given to the following students:
- Excellence in literacy: Ella Saunders (infants) and Ivy Saunders (primary)
- Excellence in numeracy: Oscar Robinson (infants) and Ryan Ings (primary)
- Excellence in sport: Jaiden Ings (infants) and Tom Ings (primary)
- Excellence in music: Grace Winning (infants) and Thomasina Knight (primary)
- Most improved student: Kyron Cattle-Edwards (infants) and Emelia Martin (primary)
- Outstanding citizenship: Imogen Grange (infants) and Abbey Paterson (primary)
- Special award – The Pru Goward Love of Reading Award: Nolan Yates
- Special Award – Murrumburrah High School Award for a year six student: Tom Ings.
The 2018 School Representative Council positions were also announced:
- President: Abbey Paterson
- Vice president: Dane Howard
- Treasurer and secretary: Emelia Martin
The 2017 year 6 graduation certificates were presented by 3–6 teacher Ms Teagan King to Tom Ings, Oscar Knight, Thomasina Knight and Morgan Christensen.
The evening ended with everyone signing ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’ and a lovely dinner was provided by the P&C.
