The concert, beginning at 2pm, will feature the Australian Rugby Choir, the Gospel Folk Choir, the Hilltops Choir and the local M&D Society Choir.
Sunday’s programme will include vocal solos by soprano Julie O’Connor, who will also combine in two duets with mezzo soprano Rachel Campbell.
Ms Campbell, who is the conductor and musical director of the Australian Rugby Choir, will also lead the gathering in two congregational hymns.
The words will be printed in the programme, so members of the audience will be able to join in the singing.
Choirs will gather in St Patrick’s Church at 12pm on Sunday for final rehearsals, and following lunch will return for the concert to begin at 2pm.
A broad selection of items have been chosen by participating choirs and the programme is certain to have wide appeal.
The concert is being held to raise funds for the splendid work of Can Assist in Boorowa and Young, and admission is by donation to this worthy cause.
Ticket sellers will also be on hand for those who wish to secure tickets in the current Can Assist raffle which has an excellent prize.
The local Can Assist committee is very grateful to all who have assisted in the organisation of this activity, and particularly the many choir members from Canberra, Young and Boorowa who have made their time and talent available.
Special thanks must go to generous sponsor, the Boorowa Community Bank, and appreciation to St Patrick’s Parish Council for provision of the splendid venue.
