An annual event, the Andalini Spring Dinner Dance attracted guests from all over the region, including Queanbeyan, Tumut, Wagga Wagga, Young, Goulburn and, of course, Yass. Foot-tapping vintage and pop music was provided by Hugh Packard and Tony Webb.

During the course of the evening the Andalini raffle, so generously patronised by local people every year, was drawn. The three lucky winners were: first prize (Star card to the value of $500 worth of petrol) Bev Gibbson of Sydney; second prize (Star card to the value of $250 worth of petrol) Bob Monkley of Yass; and third prize (a quilt) to Kay Malius. The petrol cards were donated by Veronica Olmos and Greg Holt of Yass Caltex Woolworths service station, who are immensely generous long-term supporters of Andalini.

A fact not generally known is that the quilt was made and donated to Andalini for the raffle by Bev Gibbson. This lady makes one of her exquisite quilts specifically for this raffle every year and those people who have won them over the years treasure them as true works of art.

The evening went with a swing with several wheel-chaired dancers having an absolute ball in the floor amid the crowd. Decorations by Margaret Reidy added to the festive atmosphere, as strains of the great old rock classics got everyone dancing.

The success of the evening was due in large part to the meticulous organisation of Mary Cochrane, who arranged the whole evening and then ensured absolutely everyone enjoyed themselves to the music.
