Hartley Lifecare, a not-for-profit organisation that provides care for children and adults with disabilities, brought a group of excited visitors and the swimming instructors put on some classes.
There was water aerobics, pool games and safety lessons. Santa even made an appearance later on in the day.
Spencer Swim Safe has also informed the Tribune that on January 2 Spencer swim Safe volunteers, Tia Spencer and Kate Wylie will be travelling to Yarrabah, an Aboriginal community in far north Queensland.
They will spend two weeks teaching the local children essential swimming skills. They are working with the PCYC to get the program together and organise use of the local pool.
Spencer Swim Safe has also given some tips to help parents prepare there children for the water: prepare kids for swimming at an early age; if they can walk they can swim, swimming lessons and danger lessons are essential, be sun smart and always be on the look-out for children around pools.
