The last-minute rally to bring back the fun of Christmas late-night shopping to Yass has paid off.
While there's no denying the event was not up to the well-organised series of Christmas shopping nights in previous years, local retailers rallied together and made a concerted effort. Shoppers seemed to appreciate it, with the face-painting and scavenger hunt for the little ones organised by Petite and Belle a particular hit.
Buskers played outside Full Circle Serenity and Kidz Blitz.
Meanwhile, Santa (with the help of Bernie Johnson) and his elf (ably assisted by Robyn Rhind) were a welcome sight on the main street.
An 'imposter' on a motorbike also cheered shoppers by riding up and down the main street.
Organiser Pam Staines, of Full Circle Serenity, said she was very happy with how everyone got into the action. She is now brimming with ideas for next Christmas, having realised that it's best to start planning early.
Pam said she is also looking forward to the main street looking more 'Christmassy' next year with council bringing back the Christmas lights.
