Wildcare president Maryanne Gates said her organisation would help rehabilitate burned or injured wildlife.
The group was “getting the word out there we’re around and we will rescue anything, whether it’s a reptile, bird or kangaroo”.
Ms Gates said the group would wait until they were invited onto properties.
“We don’t want to get in the way of any fire fighters [or] intrude on people that have lost their properties,” Ms Gates said.
There may not be a lot left to save anyway.
The Wildcare president said a firefighter reported that there were no signs of wildlife out there.
She was still hopeful they might be able to help.
“We’re not sure whether… generally most of them didn’t make it or whether there are animals out there that need our help.”
The group is available to come and help at a moment’s notice.
“If anyone finds anything, give us a call. It’s a 24-hour number. We’re more than happy to come in and check.”
