Donations can be made to BlazeAid to help the volunteer group set up camp at Bookham and put up fences on burnt properties.
Money can also be given to the Rotary International District emergency relief fund. The fund will be distributed through the local Rotary Club once the district board determines the best use of the funds.
“The financial and psychological impact on affected Yass Valley LGA and Harden Shire farmers is still being assessed but it is significant, as is the impact on the environment and wildlife of the area,” a statement from council said.
Money is the most useful donation because if provides flexibility and choice to meet farmers’ immediate needs.
“It also circulates in the affected community, stimulating faster recovery for the local economy.”
