The body of a 34-year-old man was found in a car submerged in Sandy Creek at Glen Cairn early on Wednesday morning. Divers found the second body, of a 25-year-old man, nearby several hours later.

Both men were believed to have been driving to work at a Mulgowie farm on Sunday morning when their cars were swept away.The search was focused on Sandy Creek after a Mitsubishi Magna was found there on Tuesday afternoon.

The youngest of the six flood victims was just three. He was Angus Burke, the son of two doctors in Brisbane.

He and his pregnant mother, Zara Weedon, were crushed by a tree while walking along Kedron Brook in Gordon Park on Monday. Angus died in hospital that night.

Dr Weedon remains in a critical but stable condition in the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Ex-tropical cyclone Oswald claimed its first victims on Sunday at Burnett Heads, near Bundaberg and near Gympie. The 81-year-old man died when he fell off his yacht while trying to secure it against fierce winds.

A man, 27, believed to be wheelchair bound, drowned in a creek near Gympie when the car in which he was travelling with his mother and stepfather was washed off the road.

The next day, a motorcyclist was killed when he was swept off a flooded bridge.

Police in Yeppoon are still searching for a fisherman missing since Thursday when his boat was destroyed by rough waters.

With floodwaters slowly falling, a convoy of 61 military vehicles carrying more than 200 soldiers has left Brisbane for Bundaberg where about 2000 homes were flooded. Defence Minister Stephen Smith said they would stay as long as they were needed.

It is expected to be some time before about 7500 residents can return home. About 1200 people remain in evacuation centres, with thousands of others bedding down with family and friends.

In Brisbane, people have been told to limit water use, but the city's main processing plant has resumed operating, providing almost enough water to meet needs.
