The news comes after the New Zealand outfit lodged their Response to Submissions (RTS) with the NSW Department of Planning and Environment (DPE).
The shop front, located at 41 Comur Street, Yass, will open from May 17 until June 9 and is designed to assist with the community information and consultation process. Members of Trustpower’s Project Team will initially be available from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Thursday.
The proposed wind turbines have an installed capacity of around 327 MW, the suggested location is on a series of ridgelines running north to south near the town of Rye Park.
The proposal includes three local government areas – Yass Valley, Boorowa and Upper Lachlan.
Trustpower’s submissions included a number of modifications made to the project layout as a result of feedback from the public exhibition of the Environmental Assessment, and consultation with stakeholders.
These modifications included a reduction in the number of proposed turbines from 126 to 109.
Along with location of associated site facilities, transmission lines, on-site tracks and access road options.
Following a review of the RTS by the Department of Planning and Environment, the amended layout and RTS will be made available for public exhibition and comment. This will be at a time to be determined by the DPE, which has also indicated that during the exhibition period it will hold a further public information session focused on the planning process.
