The Yass Runners and Walkers group is considering a change and re-branding of its name and purpose in time for its first running event during daylight savings, which begin on October 1.

Discussions include renaming the group to ‘Yass Casual Runners and Walkers’.
The move comes after administrators say they were unsure about the causes of diminishing member numbers compared with previous years.
Earlier in the year, the group introduced a Saturday running session (at 8am) in addition to its traditional Monday slot at 6.15pm.
Both sessions begin at Riverbank Park.
Group member and runner David Ault said “we encourage all walkers and runners of any and all abilities to participate”.
Each member may choose to run, walk or both at their own pace and distance.
They also receive certificates to recognise milestone attendances.
