Local Leader | Michael Pilbrow - Yass Valley Business Chamber: Gift cards

A very exciting new chapter in the Yass Valley has started.

Yass Valley Gift Cards have arrived as part of an initiative led by the Yass Valley Business Chamber and supported by the Yass Valley Council Economic Development and Tourism Division.

In a lot of ways, the Yass Valley Gift Cards will be similar to the gift cards that you can buy for major retailers and shopping malls.

The main difference will be that they can only be spent in the Yass Valley.

A team of volunteers is going out across the Yass Valley activating EFTPOS machines so that interested businesses will be able to accept payment from customers with gift cards.

If you have a locally-owned business and you would like to be able to accept Yass Valley Gift Cards, please email us at info@yassbusiness.com.au.

Any business in Binalong, Bookham, Bowning, Burrinjuck, Gundaroo, Murrumbateman, Sutton, Wallaroo, Wee Jasper and Yass can participate if you have an EFTPOS machine – it doesn’t matter if you have a shopfront or not.

And then – from the beginning of November – you will be able to purchase gift cards loaded up with any amount from $10 to $1,000 – just in time for Christmas.

So, if you have friends and family you like to give gifts at Christmas, then get ready to be able to buy Yass Valley Gift Cards from the beginning of November.

What better present could you give someone from Canberra or Sydney than a gift card that required them to visit the Yass Valley!
