Cheryl Morgan, president of YDHS, said other highlights in 2017 included the Whole Histories conference in April.
“More than 100 people attended the three-day conference – that was our biggest event ever.
“We were pleasantly surprised about the responses,” Ms Morgan said.
Dr Richard Reid, a life member, was also recently made a fellow of the Federation of Australian Historical Societies – one of only three awarded nationally.
On the night, YDHS also launched a major raffle as a fundraiser for the society.
Tickets are $2 each and prizes include stays at the Globe Inn and vouchers for Clementine.
Tickets will be drawn in March 2018.
