Davis’ experiences as a rugby league coach includes stints at the Gunning Roos and Boomanulla Raiders.
Asked about the appointment, Davis said he was very pleased.
“It’s a good family club and has a strong reach. It’s been a good club for a long time – which was what attracted me,” Davis said.
Looking ahead, he said the major goal for the 2018 season was to make the semi-finals.
“We’ll look to build on the good club culture and the positive from the community.
“We’ll build on last year and hopefully win a premiership soon,” he said.
Ben Spencer, president of the Brahmans, said the club looked forward to working with Davis in the 2018 season.
“The current coach at the time decided to move on back home to Young and Cole showed interest in the job in the early stages.
“We appointed Cole and he’s been enthusiastic and active in searching for news players,” he said.
Spencer has praised Davis for wanting to build on their success in the George Tooke Shield, which the club only re-entered this year after a stint in the Woodbridge Cup.
“He wants to continue building the community culture in the club,” Spencer said.
Pre-season training will begin in late January to early February 2018.
Davis will bring a number of players with him for the new season and the Brahmans will be looking for new players.
A trial match is planned at Ulladulla early next year.
