Let's make the touch knockout one to remember

In roughly a month and a half, the thirtieth edition of the Yass Touch Knockout is going to arrive.

Same as last year, it will feature players from across the country and two days of high-quality touch football on Walker Park, with around 100 teams taking part and intense competition throughout all the grades.

Same as last year, the Tribune will be there to cover it.

But this time, we want to do something special to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the competition, which has become an integral part of the sporting year for Yass.

So we’d like to ask for help from the local community.

To commemorate this year’s touch competition, we want as many photos as we can get our hands on from every year of the touch knockout.

If you have even one photo from the old days of the competition, we’d love to see it.

If you have a collection at home in an album or scanned on to your computer, we’d love to see it.

If you know someone who loves to take photos, let them know. We’d love to see whatever they’ve got from touch knockouts gone past.

This is a special year for the community. The Yass Touch Knockout is a cornerstone for the town, and brings with it fond memories of great footy and a great weekend.

If you can find any of these memories, send them in. Email them, slide them under our door, or message them. We want your help in making this anniversary one to remember.

The competition runs across the January 27 and 28, so get your photos in as quickly as possible so that we can create something for the whole town to enjoy.

If you do have some photos and want to send them in, the Tribune can be contacted on Facebook, or via email at editorial.yasstribune@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
