The holiday season is well and truly upon us and with that is an increase in traffic on our roads, often driving further distances than we are used to.
Many drivers will now be planning to be returning from their holidays (or even setting off, if you’re taking a later break).
Fatigue is one of the big three killers on our roads and can happen to anyone, no matter the distance or the time of day you are travelling.
If you are driving this holiday season it’s important to be on the lookout for signs of fatigue.
Even a passenger can help the driver by looking out for these signs.
It makes sense that fatigue-related crashes account for twice as many fatal crashes, because a driver that is asleep can’t brake.
The only cure for fatigue is sleep.
So take the opportunity before you set out on your journey to get a proper sleep, and plan where you can ‘Stop, revive, survive’ on your route.
