In a social media post, a spokesperson from the Hume LAC said a Yass resident had experienced interference with their horses with people becoming concerned about horses wearing rugs in summer.
“Police have been made aware that these particular rugs are specifically designed for hot weather,” the post read.
“[The rugs] protect the horses from a number of environmental factors; they also have plenty of water/food available and are well cared for.”
The spokesperson said further infractions would be appropriately investigated by police.
“Concerns regarding animal welfare should be raised with the authorities, and matters not taken into your own hands,” the post concluded.
