The NSW RFS said a hotel and a number of other buildings have been destroyed in the grass fire on Wee Jasper Road, Wee Jasper that began around 2.3pm today.

“The grass fire is now contained and crews remain on scene,” the NSW RFS said.
The fire was about 2ha in size.
Update at 4.50pm
The NSW RFS now lists the fire at 6499 Wee Jasper Road as under control.

Daniel Osborne, operational officer of the NSW RFS Southern Tablelands Zone, said the fire was about 2.5ha in size.
“It’s currently being controlled but not yet contained,” Mr Osborne said.
He said the fire started behind the tavern on Wee Jasper Road.
“There’s been reports that several structures have been impacted, as well as a power line across Wee Jasper Road” Mr Osborne said.
He said there were no known injuries and no further threat to residents and to properties at this time.
Mr Osborne has asked residents and the community to avoid the area to ensure emergency crews were able to conduct operations safely.
Emergency crews in attendance include those from Wee Jasper, Mullion and Good Hope.

A grass fire began on 6499 Wee Jasper Road, Wee Jasper, around 2pm–2.30pm on Thursday, February 15.
The NSW RFS currently lists its status as out of control. Alert level is advice.
Multiple RFS crews have responded.
Goulburn Scan has reported that a building has been lost.
