NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and other NSW cabinet ministers visit the electorate in the last week of February.

Community Cabinets were introduced by former Labor Premier Morris Iemma in 2007. 

They involve NSW Government ministers visiting towns and meeting the communities, culminating in a community morning tea and cabinet meeting.

Member for Goulburn Pru Goward MP was “delighted” to welcome the NSW Cabinet to Goulburn. 

She wants locals to have the opportunity to speak to the ministers in person.

“Ministers will have the opportunity to meet with staff in their respective government agencies. There will also be time to inspect state projects that are progressing - or proposed - in the electorate,” Ms Goward said. 

“I will be showing the Premier and cabinet what recent funding is achieving, but also flagging potential future projects and discussing government policies that will benefit the residents of the Goulburn electorate.”

“Community Cabinet is a wonderful opportunity because the focus of the week will be Ministers meeting with many different community members and organisations from Goulburn, Yass, Moss Vale, and the villages of the electorate.

Ms Goward will be showing ministers where funding has already been invested in the electorate, particularly in the areas of health, schools, sports facilities and emergency services.

Meanwhile, Goulburn Labor president Jason Shepherd said if the gathering led to anything for Goulburn it would be useful – otherwise it would just be a “one-sided talk fest.” 

“Dubbo got the rail yards. Sometimes we don’t even get one rail service a day. 

“They can have as many community cabinets as they want. It is about what actually happens here after it.”
