An artist in Murrumbateman has had her studio filmed as part of an international television documentary.

The art and practice of Amanda McLean, who’s been a painter for about 30 years, was filmed on April 8 for the show ‘Colour in Your Life’.

The show, originating in Australia, documents artists working in their studios and is aired worldwide via 300 television stations.

The film crew, including presenter Graeme Stevenson who was awarded an OAM for services to the arts, spent the day with Ms McLean to learn more about her paintings.

She said the highlight of the filming was the opportunity to showcase her process and works.

“It was great to be part of the group of artists that was filmed, which included some in Canberra.

“It was our first time collaborating and the filming was part instructional but mostly documenting how we worked,” she said.

Ms McLean’s chosen medium is pastel and she said she had been an artist since childhood.

Asked about her inspiration and the subject she was most interested in, she said it was predominantly landscapes.

“I have a very deep feeling for landscapes. The light is always changing based on the different seasons,” Ms McLean said.

Her next upcoming exhibitions will include one at Robyn Rowe Chocolates.

The episode that will feature her work is set to be aired in June. To keep updated about the specific date and time:
