I happened to be in Sydney travelling west along Parramatta Road. When we got to Silverwater Road, I was redirected onto the Western Expressway because of a road accident that had just happened.

My wife and I looked for a toll booth, but there were none, and we never got the notice in the mail. But two weeks later, we got a fine. Only after I complained did they sort it out.
A lot of country drivers are being fined because there is no system in place to handle such a situation.
The [road authorities] ask drivers to call and book a trip, but do they realise how many times people have no time to work out the route they will take.
I am sure they would rather collect the extra money than be honest.
