As the incoming president of the Yass Valley Business Chamber, I’d like to thank those who’ve stopped for a chat and to show support and recognise that good things are going on around the place. It’s my intention to continue to drive the chamber forward, and build on the work of Michael Pilbrow and what he was able to achieve.

The chamber is in a good position, thanks to Michael and the past committees, who put in a lot of groundwork to create a positive feel about Yass Valley and our local businesses. The gift cards are a perfect example of that and an initiative we’re looking to build on, as well as the popular late night shopping in the lead up to Christmas.
In and around the villages, we’ll also continue to engage with more local businesses to get on board with the chamber. Our networking opportunities include the monthly chamber breakfasts at different cafes around the region; and the business awards next month. For the second annual awards it has been refreshing to see the amount of interest it has generated, the number of nominated businesses.
The awards will be announced on Wednesday July 4, 6.30-9.30pm, at Trader & Co, 92 Meehan Street, Yass. Tickets are $25 members, $50 non members, plus booking fee, through eventbrite.com.au or the link from the Yass Valley Business Chamber Facebook page. It will be a great night with live music, food and wine, and awards! It will showcase a lot of great businesses we have here.
Being in business means digging in and doing your best, but also celebrating the wins of hard work.
