Bradman’s 2015 début album for Decca Classics, My Hero (c. Richard Bonynge; English Chamber Orchestra) received five-star reviews and topped the classical and classical crossover ARIA charts for several months.
Her new album Home (c. Luke Dollman; Adelaide Symphony Orchestra) was released in 2018 with similar ARIA charts success.
Bradman has sung extensively in the United Kingdom, United States, Europe and throughout the Asia Pacific. She has performed for world leaders from the UK, US, China, India, Monaco and Australia; highlights include singing for Barack Obama and a 2014 recital in St James’ Palace for the British Royal Family.
Winner of the 2013–14 Australian International Opera Award and the APRA/AMCOS Award in 2013, Bradman is a Helpmann Award nominee and was Limelight Magazine’s 2010 Newcomer of the Year and 2015 Australian Artist of the Year.
Bradman’s program will include many songs from her recently released CDs Grace and Home, with favourites such as The Last Rose of Summer, The Nightingale and the Rose by Rimsky-Korsakov, Song to the Moon from Rusalka, Vocalise by Rachmaninov, the Bell Song from Lakme, O Waly Waly arr Benjamin Britten and Simple Gifts arr Aaron Copland.
All of these songs will be featured during the Yass Music Club Hour on Yass FM, Friday August 10, 2pm.
Stewart Kelly is one of Australia’s most eclectic pianists, performing regularly as soloist, duo partner, vocal accompanist and chamber musician. He is also a pedagogue, piano importer and broadcaster. He is on staff at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne and is a faculty member of the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School.
During the concert, Kelly will perform two brackets of piano solos on the Music Club’s magnificent Steinway Grand and will include some of his favourites.
A delicious afternoon tea will be served by Yass Hospital Auxiliary at interval.
This superb concert is expected to be very popular, with a full house anticipated, but tickets at $45 will most likely be available at the door from 1pm for early birds.
