Members and friends can look forward to a detailed account of her journey and artistic practice from Paris, “… exploring the voluptuous and lush vineyards in the Minervois of Sainte Valiére in the south of France, including a two-week artists residency within the medieval village of Noyers sur Serein.”
Margarita Georgiadis was also fortunate enough to be involved in the launch of a new artists residency program in Paris, fulfilling the role of advisor and selection committee member for L’AiR Arts.
We will hear about how important it is for artists to experience travel, education, interaction and cultural exchange with artists from around the world and how this facilitates professional development as Australian artists.
A finalist in The Archibald Prize, Salon des Refuses, The Mosman Art Prize, Metro 5 Art Award, The Portia Geach Memorial Award, Redlands Westpac Art Award, The Paddington Art Prize and Country Energy Art Award, Georgiadis was awarded four major visual arts grants including a Veolia Creative Arts Scholarship in 2017. Her work is represented in major public, corporate and private collections around the world.
Margarita Georgiadis continues her career as a professional artist, lives, works, teaches and co-manages The Picture House Gallery & Performance Space in Gunning NSW with her husband, artist and actor Max Cullen.
