The walk will start outside of Yass Valley Library, 88 Comur St, from 1.30-2.30pm.
“Come and ‘share a stroll’ with the Yass Community Mental Health service and your community,” event organisers said. “Social connections not only improve overall mental health and well-being, they build resilience. We can all share the journey if we are willing to lend a hand and take a hand when needed.”
The aim of the event is to show no one is alone and to encourage communities to be supportive, reduce stigma around mental health and seek support early.
October is Mental Health Month across NSW and its purpose is to get all of us thinking about our mental health and well-being, regardless of whether we have experienced mental illness or not.
The theme of this Mental Health Month is ‘share the journey’. Join the walk this Thursday and know you’re not alone.
You can also view Yass Valley Library’s mental health month display before and after the walk.
