I can skip fast and I can run when I’m skipping.
- Koby Cook
At the end of the program, students hold a Jump Off Day, when they can showcase their new skills. Berinba’s Jump Off Day was last Friday.
The school’s biggest fundraisers were Koby Cook and Tai Olah. Tai also won the Jump Off Day by skipping for the longest time. He had been practising a lot with his brother in the lead-up.
When asked what they like most about skipping, Tai said, “I can do the criss-cross and cool tricks,” while Koby said, “I can skip fast and I can run when I’m skipping.”
The program has taught kids like Koby and Tai about the importance of keeping their hearts healthy and strong. Koby said it’s important to stay fit and healthy so he “can play lots of sports.” Tai said, “I need to stay fit, so I can play sport and run.”
