At its most recent event, 31 shooters presented at the Yass Clay Target Club on Sunday November 18 in ideal weather to contest the three event programme on offer.

The club said that it was great to see some new faces on both the layouts and added to the regular spectator base.
Event 1 was the annual Ray Smith Memorial Double Rise Shield and once again it was a tightly contested affair with Glenn Barton claiming overall victory for 2018, one better than his second-place finish in 2017.
The near ideal conditions were reflected in some great scores across the whole day, with numerous shoot-offs required to sort event placings including a three-way shoot-off to decide the day’s High Gun winner.
Tumut Clay Target Club shooters Adam Yan and Dave Caccioppoli were rewarded several times throughout the day with Dave going on to claim High Gun after a three-way shoot-off with Adam and Phil Wales.
Special mention must go out to Sharon Shorrock from Goulburn Clay Target Club and Mark Box from Yass Clay Target Club.
Sharon claimed a prize in each of the three events culminating with a very impressive 23/25 single barrel score and Mark claimed his first ever competition prize with some spectacular second barrel efforts in the Point Score event.
Sharon also won the John Thistleton sponsored raffle at the end of the day. Well shot Sharon and Mark and thanks again John.
The club’s next competition shoot will be the Christmas shoot on December 16, which will also be the final shoot of the year. This event will include the highly anticipated 75 Target Champion of Champions event, along with a 25 target novelty event for shooters to take part in.
