There are heavy traffic conditions and significant delays on the Hume Highway, approximately 4.5km south of Lade Vale Road, after a single vehicle crash east of Yass.

About 1.45pm today, Tuesday January 8 January, a Rav4 was travelling south on the Hume Highway, about 15km east of Yass, when the vehicle lost control and crashed into a guard rail.
An 18-year-old female front seat passenger sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.
The 53-year-old male driver, as well as two back seat passengers, a 39-year-old woman, and 14-year-old girl, were treated for lacerations.
The crash investigation unit are attending the scene to conduct inquiries, as well as emergency services and roads and maritime services.
One of two southbound lanes will remain open whilst the scene is examined. Delays are expected.
