There will be 93 teams participating in the 30 Yass Valley Touch Football Knockout to be held on January 26 and 27. There are 40 Mixed teams, 38 Men’s teams and 15 Women’s teams, who will all do battle for the $15,000 prizemoney on offer.

A total of 170 games will be played at Walker Park on Saturday and the Knockout competition will be held there on Sunday.
Sixty teams from last year are back to enjoy the action which will commence at 8.30am on both days.
There are two teams from the Cook Islands coming to prepare for the World Cup in Singapore later in the year plus a team from Tasmania led by John Dowling the former Yass Fishing Inspector and a team from the Gold coast with Scott Prince at the helm.
There are ten teams from Melbourne; two teams from Adelaide; 35 teams from Sydney and teams from Wodonga, Albury; Wagga; Young; Condobolin; Parkes; Dubbo; Bathurst, Portland, Lithgow, Newcastle, Maitland, Central Coast; Wollongong, Albion Park, Milton-Ulladulla; Batemans Bay, Goulburn and Canberra.
Yass will be represented by Ligma and Smokin Winnies Drinkin Tinnies in the Men’s Division; Smokin Darts Breakin Harts and Win or lose on the Booze in the Mixed division and the Yass Bowlo in the Womens division who will have several Singapore players playing for them.
Smokin Winnies will be one of the teams to beat in the Men’s division with players like Scott Naughton, Chris Rawlinson, Adam Bell and James Byrne in their lineup.
Other teams to watch in the Men’s division are the Freezin Ice Black and Struddys Prince of Thievesrno from the Gold Coast who have Scott Prince who was the halfback for the Wests Tigers team when they won the 2005 NRL premiership in their lineup. Scott received the Clive Churchill medal for the player of the Grand Final.
The Galaxy Rebels from Sydney are the current Mixed champions and will be back to defend their title and will be hard to beat again with Manu Wakely at the helm.
Their main opposition will come from Team Inferno Hunters from the Central Coast, Skillmatic SA, Hustle ‘N Flow and the Te Whanua Mixed,
In the Women’s division the Slick Vic Chicks from Melbourne will be the team to beat. The main opposition will come from Te Whanau, Run U Ragged and Code Red.
Dave Turner will lead the ANU Bears Old Boys into action in the Men’s division.
Each team will play three games on Saturday before the teams are graded for Sunday’s Knockout event.
The finals will commence at 1.30pm on Sunday with the Men’s A Grade Final.
Match Officials
Kel O’Rourke the legendary Canberra Greyhounds racecaller will be the voice at this year’s Knockout letting everyone know what is going on.
Nick Altin, Peter Millington, Sharon and Gary ‘Bear’ Foster from Griffith will be the Referees Co-ordinators for the tournament.
Ricky Hetherington, Ben Kennedy and Danielle Rob the NSW Touch Association Development Officerswill be in the Admin teat updating the results and preparing the draw for Sunday.
