The Rotary Club of Yass made the decision on Tuesday night, after nearly three months of searching for a new location.
The markets were previously held at St Augustine’s Hall. However, the hall was offered to Yass Gymnastics after its licence to use Yass Showground’s Sports Stadium was terminated.

The markets were held at the hall for the last time time on October 20.
The Yass Soldiers’ Memorial Hall was the preferred location for organisers, stall holders and members of the public, who liked its proximity to the town centre.
The Rotary Club had also considered Yass Public School and the Hartigan Centre.
The Hartigan Centre was voted out early as the other two had better parking and accessibility.
Standing behind the Yass Valley Men’s Shed’s woodwork stall, Roger Holgate said they had more visitors when the markets were at the hall versus the school.
He thought more people saw the markets while passing through the town to pick up other items, such as the newspaper or coffee.
Anne Brian and Ron Wardrope make jams, caramels, dried fruit and crackers for the markets and also said there was more foot traffic to the Memorial Hall than the school, and they preferred the atmosphere down in town.
“Shoppers also have easy access to an ATM in town,” Yass Valley Councillor Kim Turner said, speaking as a private citizen.
“The markets complement the shop owners and the shop owners complement the markets,” Cr Turner said. “Anything that’s good for business is good for the town.”
“The Rotarians are relieved to have settled on a very good market venue,” Rotary Club of Yass president Sam Bucknell said.
“Now, we’re going to make sure the public takes full advantage of a great community market,” he said.
The markets are held on the first and third Saturday of every month.
The next markets are on Saturday, February 2, and will include the new coffee and ice cream stalls.
