Discover how to turn your waste, including pet waste and meat, into food for your plants and soil in a composting, bokashi buckets and worm farming workshop, this month.
Simone Dilkara of Landtasia Organic Compost will show participants how to recycle all of their leftovers into the "good stuff", as she calls it. The workshop will explain how to compost, how to set-up and care for a worm farm and how to use a bokashi bucket. People will also learn about the equipment they'll need and should leave feeling confident and prepared to create and manage their own composting or worm system at home.
The workshop is for everyone, including those who love gardening, those who want to know more about composting and worm farming, and even those who already have a compost pile but want to maximise its usage or have questions.
Workshop details:
- When: Sunday, March 31, 2pm-5pm
- Where: Yass Community Garden, 17 Pritchett St, Yass
- What to bring: gloves, sensible shoes, sun protection and samples of your homemade compost if you have any
- Cost: $5 (includes afternoon tea and a gift)
- RSVP: With payment to Yass Valley Council by Monday, March 25 (call 6226 1477)
The workshop will be followed by a wood-fired pizza dinner for a gold coin donation.
