  • Bookham Sheep Show and Country Fair, 9am, Bookham Memorial Hall. The Bookham Sheep Show and Country Fair is a great day out for all the family with an art exhibition, photography competition and vegetable competition. Enjoy a browse through the craft and produce stalls with morning and afternoon tea available. Jumping castle for the kids and a barbecue lunch to boot. New to this year's show is a small baking competition, fleece competition and a pen of three sheep competition. Free

  • Friends of Yass Gorge Platypus and Rakali Talk, 6pm, Trader Co., 92 Meehan St, Yass. The Friends of Yass Gorge have invited Geoff Williams from the Australian Platypus Conservancy to come and talk about the biology and key conservation requirements of platypus and rakali (an Australian water rat). The crew from Fire and Rescue NSW in Yass (and most other stations around NSW) will be opening their doors to the public. Come check out our fire trucks and meet our crew. Live demonstrations, station tours, gift packs for the kids, fire safety information and a sausage sizzle. A great day out for the whole family. Free

As community members we often find ourselves providing support to friends and neighbours who are experiencing difficulty and emotional distress. We want to help. but how should we respond? This free one-day workshop aims to provide participants with a practical framework and skill set that enables them to respond with clarity and confidence.
