The Redbacks' Division Three State League Men's side has defeated Belsouth FC and Weston Molonglo FC in the first two matches.
These wins will have been satisfying for Yass, as they have had strong rivalries for a number of years with both sides, particularly Belsouth.
This means that the Redbacks have continued their strong form from 2018, in which they finished as Minor Premiers and were unlucky to lose hard-fought semi-final and preliminary final clashes against Gungahlin Juventus and Brinbabella Blues FC respectively.
While they currently sit at number two on the ladder, behind Brindabella, the Redbacks will fancy their chances of regaining the top spot as their team remains largely the same as last year's.
This weekend will see Yass take on Canberra City SC, who are currently fifth on the table with a lone win to their name over Burns FC.
It will be a challenging match, as Canberra City have consistently pushed top sides in the last few seasons, but a victory will help Yass consolidate its spot in the top two.
Meanwhile, the women's side has also continued their good form with wins over Belwest FC and Belnorth FC in the Division Four Women's State League competition.
This has seen their exceptional form from last season continue. In 2018, the women's Redbacks dominated the competition for the entire season, going unbeaten until the semi-finals where they lost a contentious match against Narrabundah FC, who went on to win the grand final.
This season will see a step up in the level of competition for the women's Redbacks, as they have moved from Division Five into Division Four, however so far they seem to be handling the change well.
Like the men, the women have managed to maintain the core of their team, which will serve to benefit the side throughout the year.
This weekend, the women's Redbacks will take on Lanyon United FC, who are ranked sixth and should provide a sturdy challenge to the third-ranked Yass side.
While the senior sides have enjoyed success, the Redbacks teams in the lower divisions have had more mercurial starts to the 2019 season.
The Division Three Reserve men are currently winless following losses to Weston Molonglo FC and Belsouth FC.
This sees them at the bottom of the ladder, and hoping for a win against Canberra City this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Division Five women have managed a win and a draw against Gungahlin United FC and Majura Medusas respectively.
