The competition also marked many of the athletes' first times at competition away from their home club, and club owner and head coach, Michelle Vitler, said that they did well.
"This was their first competition outside of Yass, and being that it's a new year, it's a new level for them," Vitler said.
The most successful of the competitors was Vitler's daughter, Aimee Vitler, who, on her return from injury, managed to place on all apparatuses and claimed second place overall in the level five competition.
Another one of the junior level three competitors managed to claim sixth place, which Vitler said was "a good effort, considering they're new routines, new skills, harder skills for them."
The Dubbo competition featured a broad range of athletes, who competed from level one all the way to level seven, and Vitler estimated that there were roughly 200 gymnasts in attendance.
"They competed all on the Saturday, so it went from 9.00am all the way 'til I think the level fives finished at about 5.30pm," she said.
Taking part in their first competition away from home was "great experience" for the gymnasts, Vitler said.
"Especially [because] the NSW Gymnastics system is changing a little bit.
"To qualify for state now, they have to compete within the region. So, getting out into all of the competitions in the region, all of the invitationals is great experience for them. So when it comes to that one competition that counts, they've had plenty of exposure."
This exposure will be key for Yass Gymnastics as the club has some big plans for which it wants to be ready over the next few months.
Trials will take place over the next two weeks for level threes and up to qualify for the Yass team which will travel to Newcastle in July, where they will compete at the Country Championships.
On June 5, the club will also send a number of its students to the combined High School/South Coast trials in Nowra, ahead of the combined High Schools Championships in August, which are also in Newcastle.
