Fire engulfed a shed where the category nine fire fighting tanker was stored.
The shed, which was around 12 metres by 12 metres in size, went up in flames at the rural property on the Hume Highway in Bowning around 3pm on June 24.
Another vehicle and a farm bike were also inside the shed and lost to the fire.
No one was injured and Captain Holdsworth was not at home when the fire broke out.
"It's a big loss for the brigade and community," said NSW RFS Southern Tablelands operational officer Lachlan Gilchrist of the equipment lost.
"But fortunately no one was hurt and everyone did a great job with putting the fire out."
Captain Holdsworth's own crew and Fire & Rescue NSW Station 511 Yass arrived to extinguish the fire just after 3pm.
The wind was against them, but the firefighters contained the flames to the shed, stopping its spread to the house, said Station 511 acting deputy captain Matt Carroll.
The cause of the fire has not been established at this time.
Hume Police District officers were on the scene to examine the cause, said acting Inspector David Cowell of Yass Police Station.
An ambulance also arrived as a precaution.
