Mary Kiani always knew she wanted to be a singer, imagining she was famous, holding mini-concerts in the bathroom. Kiani's passion for music stayed with her through school and at the age of 14 she joined a band. She has toured the United States with Donny Osmond, sung with many big singers in the UK, and even performed as a support act for Prince. She will be performing her set, 'A very Mary Christmas in July' where the audience can expect a Christmas-themed show of jazz and festive songs.

National Tree Day
- Sunday July 28, various sites and times. Just join in, free.
A call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to their community. Each year, about 300,000 people volunteer their time to engage in environmental activities that educate individuals about the world around them. It's a day to venture outdoors and get to know your community, and most importantly, to have fun! This year's chosen locations:
Goulburn, 9am to noon; PCYC end of the Wollondilly Walking Track (27 Kenmore Street). Connecting the original Walking Track to its new northern end, the small park area will benefit from new trees that will eventually provide a shaded area for users. A free barbecue will be provided for participants along with gloves and other equipment; and
Yass, 11am to 2pm; Yass Landcare Paddock Tree Demonstration and nursery open day (1428 Yass Valley Way). A demonstration and information day for planting and protecting paddock trees for wildlife connectivity and shelter. Co-operative purchase of tree guards is available for a significant cost saving. Meet like minded people and have the opportunity to register for later paddock tree planting days. Barbecue lunch available.
