This time, it was Yass Public School's turn when they were rewarded with the Team of the Year award for their excellence in tennis on Wednesday, May 22.
The council praised their performance at the prestigious Tood Woodbridge Cup which is named after former Australian tennis player Todd Woodbridge.
The tennis tournament is a gala day and competition for student from years three and four.
It is the largest school based competition in NSW with over 5000 participants.
The cup is about having fun while representing your school in a team environment, playing modified tennis.
"The Yass Public Tennis Team have secured a state final spots for the last two years, competing at the Todd Woodbridge Cup in Sydney," the council said.
Yass Public School's Todd Woodbridge Cup organiser and teacher Robyn Phillips said it was a fantastic achievement from her students.
"It's pretty amazing for kids from such a small school to get all the way to Sydney," Phillips said.
"It was well deserved.
"They held their own and did pretty well."
If there is one thing that Phillips hoped the students gained from the experience, it would be confidence.
"A lot of them have played tennis before, but there are also kids that haven't really played," Phillips.
"It's also a very healthy pastime."
The team from 2018 included Jett McGrath, Eloise Smith, Lachlan Penfold, Janika Vea, Hayden McHugh, Jessica Condon, Liana Deery and Louis Derronne.
They were managed by Kirsty Smith and coached by Scott Eulenstein.
