100 guests filled the historic Fifield Lane clubhouse which has welcomed entire generations of families onto its courts and into its membership lists.
Guests traveled from across Australia as well as from around Yass, for what club captain Michele Whitters described as "loud and enthusiastic" greetings in an email to the Tribune.
Attendees of the party were taken back in time, as the clubhouse was decorated with memorabilia and relics from the last 120 years to "ignite memories of competitions, parties, cups and other special occasions", Whitters said.
The clubhouse was also draped in the club's traditional colours, blue and yellow, which included the floral arrangements, balloons, and table settings.
One of the biggest challenges of the day, Whitters said, was moving people from the bar to the tables to officially begin the celebrations.
"It proved a challenge to move people away from the bar where guests were happily catching up with each other, to take their seats for the more formal proceedings of the day," she said.
The patrons were welcomed by YLTC president, Greg Martin, who then thanked the committee for organising the day and the sponsors who supported it.
Martin went on to update members past and present on the club's current membership statistics and listed its goals for the future.
"[He highlighted] the club's keenness to remain a vibrant component of the Yass community," Whitters said.
"He stressed the need for greater involvement with the community, especially the younger generation. Engaging the younger generation is a key focus of the club."
Martin's address was followed by a brief history of the club from Peter Middleton, whose grandfather was a "significant member" of the original committee, Whitters said.
Kim Henderson and Dee Bush also addressed the crowd, before the cake was cut by life members Helen Shannon and Ian Lumsden.
