Unlike in previous years, when the event was run on the one day, this year's will be spread over two weeks.
The first instalment will take place on Saturday, November 16, and will feature the community competition.
This is the division for all of the local teams who wish to take part. and MFC president Andy Ingold confirmed that the usual suspects will play on the day.
"At the moment, we have five locked away for the community [competition] again: the MFC side, the RFS, the cricket club, the tennis club, and Murrumbateman Rural Supplies," Ingold said.
Meanwhile, the AFL division will feature a number of teams from the AFL Canberra competition and, Ingold hopes, the surrounding regions.
It will take place on Saturday, November 23.
"We're trying to attract clubs from all over the place," Ingold said.
"I've had a phone call from a guy, he's going to try and get a side from Batemans Bay ... if there's some sides down around the Riverina that want to have a crack [they'd be welcome]."
Following the installation of the lights on the Murrumbateman Rec Ground, this year's competitions will take place later in the day.
Though the last two editions have been big hits among the competitors, Ingold said that there was consistent feedback about the heat. So, he and the MFC committee decided to hold the event later on both days and utilise the lights.
There has also been consistently positive feedback about the quality of the day.
"Everyone is saying how good a day it is," Ingold said. "It's well-run, it's fun, they get a bit of fitness. That's what our club's about, getting the family and the community involved and get some fitness into us.
This year, the action will kick off from 4pm and will wrap up by roughly 8pm on each day.
2019 will also see an increase on the prize money available for the winning team.
In years gone past, the champions have won $500. But this year, thanks to an increase in sponsorship, the MFC is offering $800 to the victors.
This will not change the registration fees, which remain at $250 per team.
The 9's is a non-contact competition run by the AFL through various football clubs across the country.
The rules vary from those of regular Aussie Rules, the most obvious difference being the nine player limit per team.
Other differences include points scored for men and women, and players needing to remain in their respective sections until the whistle blows.
Entries for the Murrumbateman AFL 9s will remain open until Wednesday next week.
