Nominations are open between now and December 6 for Yass Valley's 2020 Australia Day Awards.
"Yass Valley's annual Australia Day Awards is a great way for us to come together as a community and publicly thank those individuals and groups who work hard to make Yass Valley such a wonderful place to live," Yass Valley mayor Rowena Abbey said.
Australia Day Awards categories
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year (aged under 26 as of January 26)
- Senior Citizen of the Year (aged over 65 as of January 26)
- Community Group of the Year
- Individual Community Service
Nominees must reside or be located within the Yass Valley.
Previous nominees who haven't received an award can be nominated again.
Award winners will be announced at Yass Valley's Australia Day Breakfast on January 26 in Coronation Park.
The Rotary Club of Yass will provide a free breakfast from 7.30am and the citizenship and awards ceremony will begin at 8am.
