Police have closed the road and are advising drivers to avoid the area if possible.

The driver was able to remove himself from the car and is being treated for minor injuries, Inspector Matthew Hinton of Yass Police Station said.

It's understood the car rolled off the road and onto the embankment.

The horse was trapped in the horse float initially but has since been removed.

A vet is on scene.
