Australians planning an overseas trip are being urged to get a measles vaccine before they travel after a man was diagnosed with the highly contagious disease following his return from Samoa.

NSW Health on Thursday issued an alert for people who visited several inner and south Sydney locations between November 15 and 20.
The suburbs include across the CBD, Darling Harbour, Miranda, Kogarah, and a train from Town Hall station to Arncliffe station.
New Zealand, Tonga and Samoa are experiencing a widespread outbreak of measles.
People travelling overseas are being urged to make sure they are fully vaccinated before they leave, the health department said.
"Outbreaks of measles in popular tourist destinations means the risk for measles being imported into Australia is high."
Two doses of the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine provide lifelong protection in 99 per cent of those vaccinated.
Anyone born after 1965 who hasn't had two doses can access it for free in NSW.
